Fractional CIO, Data & Engineering

As Fractional CIO for Data & Engineering at Cortrucent Security, I help client organizations modernize their technology, strengthen their data architecture, and turn information into measurable business advantage. With more than 20 years of senior IT leadership experience—much of it built inside a complex, multi-location retail optical environment, I partner with executive teams to align application strategy with business goals and put practical, trustworthy analytics in the hands of the people who run the business. I serve as an embedded technology leader, giving clients the senior guidance of a full-time CIO without the full-time overhead.

At Cortrucent, my focus is clear: bring value to the business. I help clients evaluate application strategy, improve data architecture, modernize aging systems, and identify where AI and automation can deliver real, durable value rather than hype. Whether I am rationalizing a tangled application portfolio, building reporting that leadership actually trusts, or introducing AI into day-to-day operations, the goal is always the same practical outcomes, disciplined execution, and technology decisions that hold up over time.

Operational Leadership, Built in the Real World

My consulting approach is grounded in real operational leadership, not theory. Before joining Cortrucent, I spent more than 20 years at US Vision, one of the nation’s largest optical retailers, where I rose from Director of IT Programming to Vice President of Information Technology. During that tenure, I owned the systems, data, and software development that kept a national, multi-location retail operation running, and modernized them as the business and its technology evolved. That experience shaped my core belief: technology only matters when it makes the rest of the business measurably better at what it does.

Personal

My life outside work centers on the people around me—family, friends, and my church, where I play drums on the worship team. A devoted sourdough baker, I’m as patient with a slow-rising loaf as I am with a hard problem at work, and I bring the same care to both.
